Meritorious Awards Given at the Birthday Ball
Leaguer of the Year
This award recognizes the Detachment member who has contributed to the meeting of Detachment objectives and programs, who has set an example for members, and whose efforts have significantly enhanced the ideals set forth as a Marine.
This award consists of the Distinguished Citizen Medal, bronze with FMF device and an engraved plaque, which reads: “Presented for Extraordinary Service Above and Beyond the Call of Duty.”

Frank J. Aerts Memorial Award
This award recognizes a Detachment member, or community citizen, for the qualities of integrity, concern and assistance to others, leadership in citizenship and patriotism, demonstrated support of Detachment programs and objectives, and characterizes the example of late Detachment member Frank J. Aerts.
This award consists of the Distinguished Citizen Medal with two (2) Oak Leaf Cluster devices.

Foster L. Cheateaux Memorial Award
This award recognizes achievement by a Detachment member for excellence in performance of duties, and for contribution to Detachment programs beyond expectations.
This award consists of the Distinguished Citizen Medal with one (1) Oak Leaf Cluster device.

Distinguished Citizenship Award
This award is made to community citizens and Detachment members who have assisted others in need, and promoted values of citizenship and patriotism.
The award consists of the Distinguished Citizen Medal.

This award selection, to a Marine, is made by Don Tipples, father of Darrell. This award is designated as the top detachment Distinguished Service Medal award.

Lifetime Achievement Award
This award recognizes those Detachment members that have worked through the years for the good of the Detachment. It further recognizes the Detachment member who has had a significant positive impact on the Detachment, its programs and members; and who has consistently, through the years, made selfless efforts beyond expectations.
This selection is made by the Awards Committee with approval of the Board.
The award consists of the Detachment Distinguished Service Medal with Hourglass device.

This award recognizes Detachment members who have had a significant positive impact on the Detachment, its programs and membership, through selfless efforts beyond expectations.
The award consists of the Detachment Distinguished Service Medal.

Commandant’s Recognition Award
This award is presented to Detachment members who have exemplified themselves within the detachment; and who have contributed through time and effort to the full objectives of the detachment above and beyond that expected.
The selection is made by the Detachment Commandant with approval of the Board.
The award consists of the Meritorious Individual Commendation Ribbon.

Detachment Toys-For-Tots Award
This award is presented to those members who significantly assisted with the Toys-For-Tots campaign for 2003. These members contributed by manning barrels at various collection points; attended a variety of functions where toys were collected; assisted with the pick-up and the distribution of toys; and assisted in the purchase of special toys and ancillary items.

National Jr. Vice Commandant’s Citation presented to Mark Shuster in appreciation and gratitude for meritorious service in the interests of the National objectives of the Marine Corps League. 100% membership. Awarded 30th day of July 2004.
