My fellow Marines, Corpsmen and friends: Welcome to the Ventura County, California, Marine Corps League Detachment 597 web site. We are located in Simi Valley, California, on the eastern side of Ventura County, bordering our neighboring Los Angeles County (San Fernando Valley).
We are a non-profit organization meeting every first Thursday of each month to discuss and be involved with helping our fellow Marine brothers and sisters in need. We are dedicated in promoting good patriotism, camaraderie, and fellow citizenship. We commit ourselves to raise funds and contribute to numerous organizations with financial assistance and support.
We have members who have served during World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, Afghanistan, Iraq, and other conflicts worldwide.
If you or someone you know has earned the right to wear the “Eagle, Globe and Anchor” or has served as a Navy Corpsman in the FMF, please go to our Information Link and click on the “Recruiting Link” or the “Sign up now” link for further details. We also accept friends and family members to join as League Associate Members.
To qualify as member of the League, you must have or continue to serve honorably in the Marine Corps (active or reserve) regardless of what period… that is it! Please contact our Adjutant for additional details.
Come and join our family and get show your patriotism and get involved! The dinner at your first attendance at our meeting is on us!!
I look forward to see you at our next meeting.
Semper Fidelis,
Ruy G. Peña Jr.
Commmandant
