Detachment 597 visits the Sepulveda VA retirement facility to celebrate the 230^th Marine Corps Birthday with the veteran patients and residents. The participating members of the detachment were, Mark Shuster, Glenn Fiery, Henry Noorda Lissette Skarshaug, Martha Smally, and Becky James. We passed out small U.S. Flags.then gave each patient a piece of birthday cake, ice cream and a BIG "Thank You" for their service to our country.

It didn't take much to bring a smile to their faces. It was truely heart warming that a simple piece of cake, scoop of ice cream, a flag, and a smile brought such joy to them.

VA staff and other volunteers were present to assist us with the distribution of the goodies. All veteran patients or residents shown here are with written permission of the individual obtained by a VA staff member.
